This interactive guide provides step-by-step instructions to install, configure, and start using the HelloCRM extension in your Zoho CRM account to send SMS and WhatsApp messages. Follow the steps in order for a smooth setup.

Step 1

Install the Extension #

To begin, you must install the extension using the link that corresponds to your Zoho CRM data center region. Selecting the correct region is crucial for the extension to work properly.

After clicking the link, follow the on-screen prompts from Zoho to authorize and complete the installation for your desired users or profiles.

Step 2

Initial Configuration #

After installation, you need to connect your HelloCRM and Zoho CRM accounts. This two-way connection allows for seamless messaging and data synchronization.

If you don’t have one already, go to https://hellocrm.ai to register and create a new account.

This is a critical step that links both platforms.

  1. Log in to your HelloCRM account at https://app.hellocrm.ai.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Find Zoho CRM in the list and click Connect.
  4. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection. This automatically generates and syncs the required API key with the extension in Zoho.
  1. In Zoho CRM, go to Setup > Marketplace > All > Installed.
  2. Find and click on HelloCRM for Zoho.
  3. Click Configure. You will see two fields:
    • Mobile Field: Enter the API name for the field where you store phone numbers (e.g., `Mobile` or `Phone`).
    • Owner API Key: This field should be automatically populated after completing the previous step.

The final configuration step is to bring your Zoho contacts into HelloCRM for messaging.

  1. Go back to your HelloCRM dashboard (`app.hellocrm.ai`).
  2. Navigate to Contact Manager > Manage Groups.
  3. Click the Refresh button to see your lists from Zoho CRM.
  4. Click Sync Contacts next to the lists you want to import.

Once set up, you can start sending messages individually, in bulk, or via automation. Explore the core features below.

Sending a 1-to-1 Message #

  1. Navigate to any record in the Contacts or Leads module.
  2. Click the Chats button, which will appear on the page.
  3. A chat window will open where you can compose and send your message, use templates, and attach media.
  4. All sent and received messages are logged in this window and in the “Message Logs” related list.
